Our Visitor Centre, a great afternoon!

Only 12 miles from the centre of Birmingham. Approximately 5 miles from Junction 3 or 4 of M5.

The Falconry Centre houses over 70 birds of prey including various species of Eagle, Vulture, Buzzard, Owl, Falcon and Kite from around the world. There are over 25 species including the Snowy Owl, Asian Brown Wood Owl, Barn Owl, American KestrelSaker Falcon, Golden Eagle, Steppe EagleBald Eagle, Griffon Vulture and Raven to name a few.

During your visit you can:

  • Expect a friendly welcome.
  • See flying displays seven days a week from 1 p.m. (weather permitting).
  • Meet at close quarters our free flying Eagles, Hawks, Falcons and Owls.
  • Take photographs of the flying birds at the centre without the hinderance of wire netting.
  • Discuss conservation of birds of prey with an experienced falconer.
  • Purchase a Bird Handling Experience Day as a present for a relative/friend or treat yourself.
  • Enjoy morning coffee, light lunch or afternoon tea in the adjoining cafe.

The Visitor Centre exists in a peaceful and secluded site which is surrounded by beautiful mature trees and nestles beside Hurrans Garden Centre (access is via the Garden Centre main entrance).

As well as adding many more birds, there have been many improvements to the centre in recent years: rebuilding of all aviaries to make them larger, adding landscaped gardens and pathways, a new large fish pond, refurbishment of weathering area and the seating area for displays.

Opening Hours: Daily 10am - 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am - 5pm Sunday (Until dusk in winter).

Open all year round 7 days a week, (except: 25th, 26th and 27th December, New Years Day and Easter Sunday).

Please note: The Falconry Centre, Hagley holds a current Zoo Licence and has full public liability insurance. Each professional falconer holds a Performing Animals Licence.
