1. Bird Handling Experience Booking & Vouchers
1.1 Bird Handling Experiences (“BHEs/the BHE”) must be booked and paid for in full in advance. All dates are subject to availability. BHEs may be purchased online, over the telephone or in person by visiting The Falconry Centre, Hagley Ltd (“the Centre” or “The Falconry Centre”). Group sizes for non-Exclusive BHE’s are limited to a maximum of 6 participants on a weekday or 8 at a weekend (except for the Eagles & Vulture Experience, which is limited to a maximum of 4 participants). The Centre cannot guarantee availability on a preferred date so early booking is recommended. Bookings are made on a first-come first-served basis. The Centre does not accept provisional bookings and will not reserve dates pending payment or make any other such arrangement.

1.2 Age restrictions apply to all BHEs; details are available on the relevant pages of the website or should be discussed at the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the BHE is suitable for the intended recipient.

1.3 Vouchers for BHEs are valid for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise specified. Voucher expiry dates are clearly printed on the vouchers. It is the recipient of the voucher’s responsibility to book the BHE within this time period. Failure to book the BHE within the specified period will result in the voucher becoming null and void. No refunds or exchanges are permitted under these circumstances. If the recipient is unable to use the voucher within the validity period due to exceptional circumstances, the voucher may be extended, at the Centre’s discretion, for a period of up to six months, subject to an administrative fee of up to 50% of the current purchase price for the BHE.

1.4 Vouchers for BHEs are fully transferable and may be purchased as prizes and/or gifts.

1.5 Vouchers for BHEs are non-refundable. All purchases are considered final. Any refund offered will be at the discretion of the Centre. The Centre reserves the right to charge an administration fee of up to 50% of the purchase price of the BHE in the event that a discretionary refund is offered. Vouchers for BHEs have no cash value.

1.6 Cancellations and re-bookings are permitted and can be done online using the link in the voucher/booking confirmation, or by telephoning 01562 700014 during opening hours. 1.7 Participants who fail to attend on the date of their BHE and have not contacted the Centre before the start time of their BHE will be considered to have redeemed their vouchers and are not entitled to a re-booking. Any re-bookings under such circumstances will be at the discretion of the Centre and may be subject to an administrative charge equivalent to the 2 days’ or less notice cancellation fee specified in paragraph 1.6 above.

1.8 Participants who attend and subsequently decline or refuse to participate in the BHE, or leave before the finish time of their BHE, for whatever reason, will not be entitled to rebook their experience and will not be permitted a refund. The purchaser must ensure that the BHE is suitable for the intended recipient and that the recipient is both able and willing to participate in the experience.

1.9 Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality and for reasons of health and safety this cannot always be achieved.  Please contact us to discuss any additional needs before purchasing any of our experiences and we will be happy to advise you.

2. General Guidelines for Visitors and other persons coming into the Centre
2.1 The Centre accepts no liability or responsibility for the acts or omissions of any person visiting the Centre (whether participating in or observing a bird handling experience, as a paying visitor or otherwise) and any person entering the Centre does so entirely at their own risk.

2.2 All items, belongings and other personal property brought into the Centre by any person shall be at such person’s own risk and the Centre accepts no liability for any losses or damage suffered. Furthermore, the Centre will not be held responsible for any damage caused to personal property by any third party.

2.3 Dogs and other animals (including Guide Dogs) are not permitted to enter the Centre at any time, unless by prior agreement. Please contact the Centre on 01562 700014 during opening times before attending with any dog or other assistance animal.

2.4 The Centre reserves the right to remove any person from the premises if, in the opinion of any member of staff, that person’s behaviour is deemed inappropriate, or if that person is by their own negligence or deliberate act endangering the safety of themselves, others, or the birds at the Centre. The Centre will not be liable for any compensation, damages or refunds as a result of such removal.

2.5 Adults are reminded that children must be supervised at all times. For the health and safety of our birds, staff, and other visitors, running around and making loud noise is not permitted anywhere in the Centre. Adults are responsible for ensuring that any children in their group behave appropriately. The Centre accepts no responsibility or liability in respect of children on the premises. If any child under the age of 16 is found unsupervised in the Centre’s premises, the police will be contacted immediately to act in the best interests of the child.

2.6 Visitors are reminded that the birds at the Centre are potentially dangerous and visitors must not make any attempt to stroke, feed, touch, handle or otherwise approach the birds unless advised or permitted to do so by a member of staff.

2.7 Visitors are asked not to enter the flying arena at any time unless invited to do so by a member of staff. Bird Handling experiences taking place on the arena are for participants and observers only and are not open to other visitors to enter.

3. Bird Handling Experiences Health & Safety
3.1 Participants and Observers on BHE’s are strongly advised to inform the Centre in advance of any medical conditions they have which may affect their ability to enjoy their BHE. Some BHEs, such as the Eagles & Vulture BHE, are not suitable for wheelchair users, people with limited mobility or people with limited arm/upper body strength. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the BHE is suitable for the intended recipient.

3.2 The Centre will not be held liable for any injuries or losses sustained by any participant, observer or visitor, howsoever caused, during the course of a BHE.

3.3 Appropriate falconry gauntlets (gloves) will be provided and must be worn at all times when handling any of the birds. Participants should be aware that birds have sharp talons (claws) and beaks and will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour. Birds can bite or foot (grab with their feet) which can cause injury if the bird is not handled properly. Participants must follow the instructions of the falconer at all times and the Centre reiterates that it will not be held liable for any injury suffered as a result of failure to follow instructions given by the Centre’s staff.

3.4 The Centre reiterates that, in accordance with clause 2.4 above, the Centre reserves the right to remove any participant or observer from the BHE, and if necessary from the premises, if, in the opinion of any member of staff, that person’s behaviour is deemed inappropriate, or if that person is by their own negligence or deliberate act endangering the safety of themselves, others, or the birds at the Centre. The Centre will not be liable for any compensation, damages or refunds as a result of such removal.

3.5 Participants will not be asked nor will they be permitted to handle the bird’s food (raw meat) directly at any time. Nonetheless, Participants are advised to wash their hands after handling the birds. Anti-bacterial hand-gel is available for this purposes and there are toilets with full handwashing facilities available at Webb’s (of Hagley) Garden Centre, adjacent to the Centre.

4. Food & Drink
4.1 Refreshments are only provided free of charge to Participants and Observers on BHE’s where stated. Food and drink may be brought into and consumed at the Centre’s premises. Picnic benches are provided during summer months but space for seating is not guaranteed. A café is available at the Webb’s (of Hagley) Garden Centre adjacent to the Centre, which is open for public use. The Centre accepts no liability for food and drink brought onto the premises no matter where purchased and makes no guarantee in respect of availability, price or quality of refreshments from Webb’s (of Hagley) Garden Centre.

4.2 Participants on BHEs are responsible for advising the Centre no less than 48 hours in advance of any dietary requirements they have which may affect their refreshment options. The Centre makes no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate alternative dietary options and in any event any refreshments provided may contain allergens in respect of which the Centre makes no guarantees and accepts no liability in respect of refreshments provided. For the avoidance of doubt, Participants and Observers are again welcome to bring their own refreshments for consumption on the Centre’s premises.

4.3 Refreshment options may vary subject to availability. Any queries in this regard should be addressed to the Centre at least 48 hours before the BHE takes place.

4.4 The Centre cannot offer free refreshments (other than tap water) to visitors under any circumstances.

5. Bird Sponsorship – Individual
5.1 Purchasers of bird sponsorship must allow 28 days for delivery of the sponsorship pack from the date of purchase. The Centre cannot be held liable for any delays in delivery following dispatch.

5.2 All sponsored birds remain the legal property of the Centre at all times, which reserves the right to sell, transfer or remove the bird from public display at any time. In the event of the sale, loss or death of a sponsored bird, sponsors may be offered the opportunity to transfer their sponsorship to an alternative bird of a similar species to the sponsored bird; in most circumstances the Centre will randomly select a bird to transfer the sponsorship to. Transfer of sponsorship to an alternative bird will not entitle the sponsor to a new sponsorship package.

5.3 The Centre does not guarantee that a sponsored bird will be on display and/or flown at the centre on any given day (e.g. for the purposes of using free entry vouchers). Anyone wishing to visit to see the sponsored bird specifically is advised to telephone before visiting to avoid disappointment.

5.4 The Centre does not guarantee that a sponsored bird will be available for flying displays at or away from The Falconry Centre premises. Not all birds available for sponsorship can be used for flying and display purposes in any event. Flying and display birds are rested on a rotational basis and will not be available all year around. The availability of a flying and display bird is never guaranteed. The Centre will always give the highest priority to a bird’s health, safety and well-being before making the bird available for flying and display at any time.

5.5 The names of sponsors will be displayed on a board at the Centre. This board is updated on or around the 20th of each calendar month. It may take up to 2 calendar months for a name to appear on the sponsor’s board.

5.6 Vouchers for free entry to the Centre shall be for one adult or one child or one concession per voucher. If lost, these vouchers cannot be replaced. Free admission tickets have no cash value and cannot be exchanged or refunded. Each ticket may only be used once. Multiple tickets may be used in a single visit for family/group entry. Any person without a free entry ticket must pay the normal visitor admission charge.

5.7 Season tickets provided with Elite Sponsorships can be replaced if lost or damaged, please contact the Centre for further information.

5.8 Once purchased, sponsorships are non-transferable. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to ensure that the correct name is provided for the intended sponsor, whether buying for themselves or a third party. Sponsorship packages purchased to be given as prizes (for example for raffles or give-aways) may be excepted but only by prior agreement with the Centre.

5.9 Sponsorship is strictly non-refundable. All purchases are considered final.

5.10 The Centre reserves the right to alter sponsorship benefits packages at any time and without prior notice.
