We bring along a varied selection of birds of prey to your event. We can either attend for the whole event with a static display and flying demonstrations, or we can provide a shorter attendance by providing a 'drive on' flying display only.
Static & Flying Displays
For a full day attendance, we can provide a static display of between 6-9 birds, so people can see them up close and ask the falconer any questions about the birds, and then can perform 2 x 30 minutes or 1 x 45 minute flying displays during the day.
Flying Display Only
Alternatively, our 'drive-on' display offers a cheaper solution where a static display is not required for the whole day; our falconer will arrive at your event 15 minutes before the timetabled flying display, and will then provide up to a 30 minute flying demonstration with approximately 4 birds, followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer session while holding a bird for the audience to see up close. This option is only available for events within 10 miles of The Falconry Centre.
Either way, our team will consist of a varied selection of birds and may include birds such as Harris Hawks, Owls, Falcons and at least one of our Eagles. The flying display consists of Hawks and Owls flying at very close quarters to people and falcons flying at speeds of over 40mph. A commentary is given by the Falconer throughout the display. The birds are used to travelling and attending displays as we attend many events throughout the year.
Along with our static display we may also bring along a selection of bird of prey souvenirs and mementos for event visitors to purchase from us.
Please note that from 1st October 2018 anyone breeding or training animals for exhibition or display will be required to have a licence to do so under The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018. The Falconry Centre Ltd. is covered for this as we hold a current Zoo Licence and we have Full Public Liability Insurance. All our birds are legally captive bred. We also have current Animal Transportation Licences.
The displays are entertaining and informative and our birds are flown to the highest standards. Please complete the form on this page to send us your event enquiry information, or use the Contact Us page.
What we will need:
For the static display we provide our own netting to protect the birds and gazebos to shelter them if necessary. We prefer a quieter area of the showground to sit the birds while resting and preferably with one solid back (trees or hedgerow) and preferably under trees for shade and shelter. We also need to be able to have the vehicle by the side of the static display area. The approximate area needed for a static display is 20 feet by 40 feet.
For the flying display, you will need an arena that is cordoned off (we usually use the arena where you have other events taking place). Use of PA system, preferably with headset microphone, or at least a wireless microphone. (We do have a small portable system ourselves which is suitable for smaller crowds). When completing a booking form once a date is confirmed with us you will be asked if you are able to provide gazebo and PA system - this is so that we know whether we need to bring anything with us.
Please complete the form below to send us your enquiry about booking our Mobile Display Team and we will get back to you with our availability and quote. We aim to respond to all enquiries within 48 hours of receiving them. If you wish to discuss any matters with us or need any further information, please use the form to email us or telephone us during our opening times on 01562 700014 and we will be happy to assist you.
